Is anyone using a wooden tiller on an H26 or 260?

I posted here a couple weeks ago that we had a wooden (laminated) tiller made, which susequently broke in heavy weather. I'd love to hear if anyone else is using a wooden tiller on an H26 or 260 and how it performs. Thanks...

These are easily found in any West Marine or Boat US, because they stock them for Hunter and Catalina. Check the catalogue for price.

Mine never broke

Got my "pipe" tiller replaced about 3 years ago on my '96 h 26. Haven't had a problem with it. I sent a tracing of the tiller to H&L Marine Woodwork, Inc in California and they sent back a beautiful laminated tiller that cost me under $74 if I remember right. Haven't had a problem with it and looks and feels so much better than the "pipe".

Probably bad tiller

Gerard; I got the picture. I cannot tell if anything as a result of the boat caused it. I do not think pressure from heavy weather sailing did this. I do think it was defective from the get go. Crazy Dave Condon
