Seems like a common issue with irwin's that the centerboards have issues over time.
The boat I just purchased is no different. The forward wooden brace had been pulled loose from the hull.
I repaired and re-glass'ed in the wooden brace (with lots of epoxy and glass) and this weekend am reinstalled the cable lift mechanism.
My first mate (my lovely wife) will be replacing the 2 other pulleys located near the engine, and in the aft of the boat. I have also purchase a new braided steel wire rope 3/16th inch to be replaced as well.
So if all goes well we should have the new assembly all in place by Saturday evening.
So far it seems pretty straight forward. the Yoga seems to be the hardest part.
I will keep you all posted on the progress this weekend.
