My Heart inverter has failed after many years of excellent performance. In the process of selecting a replacement I read (and I can't remember where) that one should avoid a modified sine wave inverter as it can damage your applicances. The option seems to be the more expensive true sine wave inverter. Most inverters appear to be modified sine wave inverters. A few individuals I have contacted believe that the modified sine wave inverters are just fine. I am looking for more info. Any information you can supply would be appreciated. Eric, I have done a lot of research on my recent purchase of an inverter. I found a neat site for some good bargains. Good Luck, Mike D

Mike has you directed to a good place.

Eric: Mike has you directed to a good place. Xantrex (www.xantrex.com) owns most of the major players in this market. You may want to go directly to their site and get some advise.

Eric Did your earlier i/c work for you? Do you have any new equipment that you need to run on your new i/c? Have you evaluated the difference in cost? Does your computer and/or drill work just fine with the equipment that you have recently retired? Is newer (always) better?

But Mike, . . . .

with all that research what did you buy? I have no idea what vintage my Heart Freedom 20 might be or how long I can expect it to last. So what should I replace it with when it goes belly up? I don't think I will worry about pure sine wave unless the admiral wants an HDTV installed. :)
