Cheoy Lee 48 Ketch Jersey City, NJ (Liberty Harbor Marina)
My name is Theo Piper. I currently own a 48' Cheoy Lee Sailboat. I am curious if there is anyone that has the same boat as me in the NYC area I would love to communicate with you. I will have many questions in the future and was wondering if I can be pointed in the right direction. If I can help with anything, do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your time.

You are totally wrong.....and out of line. No post is worthless. And besides, a picture isn't going to help you. Let's just say that KingLoon's Cheoy Lee is about as far away from a Mac 26x as you can get, so you'd have nothing to contribute anyway.

Dude, really? Ya sail a Catalina 27 and have attitude about what somebody else sails? Seriously? I suppose ya don't recognize the time honored request for pictures on web forums either.... Talk about a useless post.

I'd like to see some pictures as well thanks very much...

I sail a little old O'Day 23 and I'd like to see pictures because it sounds like a beautiful boat. If anything, perhaps this is a good reminder that friendly jousting is often not read as intended via the interwebs.
Welcome aboard KingLoon!

Theo,
If this is a new purchase, congratulations. Very pretty boats but lots of things to look out for and items that often need addressed. Please tell me you've had a thorough professional survey.

There's nothing unusual about requesting pictures..... I objected to the "worthless post" reference. I might have been a little harsh on the 26x comment.... but... hey, I'm old... sorry.

Wow, what a crap storm! I just wanted to see pictures of an interesting vessel.

Despite the seven (7) silly grinning smilies holding the signs, which I alway took to convey jocularity, if someone has an issue with the 'worthless' part, I might suggest they petition the mods or administrator to change the word, given that it's right out of their own 'advanced smilies' library, along with a number of other interesting smilies that might apply here but just aren't my style to use.

As far as what I may or may not know, and any tenuous connection to the particular piece of plastic I happen to be making a dent in the water with at any given point in time, I don't know what to say. I don't get emotionally invested in a boat someone else built. It's a toy. They've all been toys, big and small. The next one will be just a toy, too.

But I'm not going to unzip and display my toy ownership pedigree. And I'm too old to care anyway.

My apologies to the OP - I just wanted to see your boat. :)

It's all good. :D

I'm sorry, man... I'm not quick enough to read behind your lines. It seem inappropriate at the time. Forgive me for the reaction, I missed my meds.

Now that KingLoon has been hijacked with the "smiley" discussion.........can we get back to the original thread? Nice looking Ketch you have sir, and welcome to the forum. We don't always behave this way (sometimes it's worse), but boats do seem to bring out the best and worst in people. And FYI.......everybody's kids think I'm old, but, old guys rule! Especially if they're sailors, in a classic boat, because we rule 2/3rds of the planet.
Welcome again to the forum and I'll be the first to say I'm looking forward to some pics of your ride (always had a weakness for the Ketch and the Yawl : classic boats).
