Turns out the webinar starts after belly dance class so I don't have to miss it! I am signed up and ready to go.

Never received a response. I checked both my email accounts and spam filters? Bummer.

It was a good presentation with a few minor sound dropouts and slides a bit to big for the ipad

Good feedback, thanks! I had increased the slide size a little on my end trying to take advantage of more of the screen but will know not to do that next time.

How long were the audio dropouts?

It is very odd presenting to dead silence so I can't tell, and have no way of knowing what you guys are hearing, or even if you're hearing it.

This was our first time with Fuze meeting and we still need to get some glitches ironed out...

Hopefully we can get some more feedback..

Re: Introducing our new webinar series. First up: Maine Sa

I found the webinar very informative and did answer many of the questions I had about battery care and mounting. Surprised that it lasted two and a half hours, but I was never bored or overwhelmed.

I am specifically interested in recharging batteries for an electric motor while on a mooring rather than in a slip that has a shore power available. I use a Torqeedo rather than a gas outboard, so there is no diesel to bulk charge the 24 vdc, 225 amp motive battery. But most of the time, I don't discharge below 80% so solar and/or wind may be all I need for 80% of my needs.

Looking forward to the next webinar.

This thread may help: Installing A Solar Panel

Your math would look something like this:

225 Ah Bank @ 80% SOC = 45 Ah deficit / 2 days = 22.5 Ah's needed per day. 22.5 / 5 hours of full output per day = 4.5A panel

You can run the math for 3, 4 or 5 days and get to a smaller panel.

If you figure 5 hours a day at the full output of your panel, then a panel with a 5A output would recharge your bank in as little as 2 days.

Thank you for the link!

I know that there will be occasional times when a good bulk charge will be needed. But from last night's discussion, it sounds like solar panels will suffice for "most" of my day sailing needs and still allow me to stay on a mooring.

How in the world did I miss that? Yea, a site to connect to with archives would be great.
