Oday 25 Deltaville
Just want to introduce myself. I recently purchased a '76 O'Day 25 and would like to learn more about this boat and connect with other owners. I'm on the mid-lower Chesapeake Bay (Deltaville, VA) and I also own a marina - Fishing Bay Landing.

Cheers,

Ron

Welcome aboard Ron and good luck with the O'Day 25. I once delivered a 1975 O'Day 25 for a friend of mine from up the Cape in Ma., and it sailed beautiful. I had it laying on the combing most of the time sailing down toward Newport from Buzzard's Bay. It was a keel/centerboard and the winch for the board was down in the cabin on the table stanchion. The board was stuck up in the keel slot but she still sailed great. I'm curious. Is your boat a full keel or is it a keel/centerboard? If it's a keel/centerboard, is the pendant line for the centerboard led into the cockpit or is mounted on the table stanchion down below? Most of the later model O'Day 25 keel/centerboards have the pendant line accessible from the cockpit and I'm curious about when they made that change. I'm sure that my old friend Rudy Nickerson of D & R Marine would know this. If you need any parts for your O'Day, he's the go to guy. He also has a wealth of knowledge about these boats. Good luck Ron!

hi ron,
welcome to the forum. I think you will love your 25. I have a 26 and my wife and i love it; comfortable, roomy, lots of stowage, and not to big, not too small.

I look forward to your photo albums, esp since you own a marina. These and other pics are very easy to post and only take about 1 minute to learn if you already put your photo's on your computer.

We have a 1980 O'Day 25, full keel, tall rigged. She is a great boat--sails well, keeps up with the bigger boats and is roomy enough to stay on for a few days. I think you'll like yours--and like Joe says, Rudy Nickerson is the man. Give him a call--has all the stuff you need to update and replace when the time comes.
