Into the wind

A very amature sailor here. I'm considering the MacGregor 26X and have a performance question. How tightly into the wind can the 26X sail with a reasonable performance? Sorry I don't know the technical terms for these things. Do you rate a boat on the angle it will sail into the breeze, or is that always dependant on the wind conditions? How does the 26X compare to other trailerable sailboats of similar size on this and other sailing criteria? Thanks

Best Into Wind Performance

You'll find that the large iron sail on the 26X allows speeds of up to 20 mph INTO the wind. No other sailboat can go that fast. Other than that its an excellent sailer with the other sails as well.

Sailing to weather

I can sail pretty comfortable at 40 degrees off the wind, even less sometimes, but you start to pinch a bit and lose any advantage for pointing that high. The 26X sails about as well to weather as most cruisers.
