Interstate Marine Battery Opinions

All, I am about to replace my plain old lead acid 4d deep cycle batteries and the local Interstate distributor has them for a good price and in stock. Has anyone used them and are they good lead acid batteries? I am going to stay with lead acid as they have served me well (old ones are 7 years old) and I just don't see a lot of advantage going with gel or agm. Thanks Ray

we have been using Interstate batteries for many years while doing extensive cruising and we get about 7 years out of a battery. BUT, how you maintain and charge your batteries are more important than who makes them to determine their longevity. Chuck

Change can be good

I had 4d's, I think the last set were Interstate. This last time I switched to 4 - 6 volt, 2 sets of 2 in series. So much better.

1. I don't requirer a trip to the hospital after wrestling them into place.

2. They are golf cart batteries, designed for easy maintiance, each has a quick release cap set with large fill holes which you can actually see into. So much easier to deal with.

3. Same amp hrs as 2-4d's.

From experience I can say that Interstate does stand behind their product.

Never had better batteries and they can take some abuse too.
