I think "Interstate Batteries" is a Marketing company. They are relabeling batteries they purchase for resale.

You would need to discover where the battery is made to answer your question. I do not have any experience with them.

In the Pacific NW I get my batteries from Dyno Batteries in Seattle WA. Fair pricing, good design and I have enjoyed their performance.

You should check Mainesail's discussion of batteries. I think it is on his website. Marine How To
Or you could check the forum. He has shared battery manufacture info here.

Interstate batteries are made by Johnson Controls and are among the better quality. Bought 4 for our bow thruster 5 years ago and they are still going strong in the Florida heat which kills batteries faster than most places.

Have had very good experience with the wet 8D Interstate batteries. They held up well and performed as expected. Now have Deca AGMs.

I have one season on 4 Interstate golf cart batteries from Costco. I'm happy with their performance, especially considering the price.

As with all batteries, it depends on the warranty you get. The industry still has not figured out why some batteries die after a few weeks or last for years and years, hence the warranty programs that all manufacturers sell. Each model battery has on the average three grades of warranty at increasing price points. Remember that one of the important points of a warranty may be accessibility, purchasing from an outlet with multiple stores across the nation might be a plus to a coastal cruiser. There is only a handful of manufacturers and they sell private label to multiple marketers.
