Interpreting Hull ID

I recently acquired a Pearson 26 that bears the following ID on its transom.

Can some one help me interpret the data? The number is PEA46189M76A.

Here's Something Which Has ..........................

.................... been sitting at the bottom of the electronic heap for some years. May be of some use .............. or perhaps not.

PEA = Pearson
46= model P26
189=sequential hull number
M76 = model year ( August of previous year thru July of year stated)
A= August (probably 1975)
