International Class
The writer did not say it was an International 14, though with an HIN it may well be. There was a very popular, very pretty, classic keel boat with a cuddy cabin called the Internatial Class with IC as it's sail emblem. I think they were about 24 feet. There was a huge fleet of them in Marblehead in the '40s. There is at least one currently sailing out of Manhasset Bay. They were one-designs too, as I recall. Another boat of the period was the 30 square meter class, also classic, also cuddy cabin but over thirty feet, I believe. The 30 squares were generally bright finished mahogany hulls while the ICs were painted. I know, doesn't help much. But brings back memories.
