I have recently purchased a 1976 Marieholm Folkboat in Nova Scotia.
Can anyone provide advice on the best suited motor that would fit in the well?

I have a 1975 Marieholm IF. It came with a Nissan 5hp, which I replaced with a Yamaha 6. I wanted as big a motor as would fit because of San Francisco Bay tides and currents.

Here's the rub. Unless you keep that motor in the water, you'll have to haul it out and stow it. Also, when sailing, you'll probably flood that outboard well.

After this, I sealed off the well and hung motor off stern bracket. Consider Tohatsu as the gearshift is in front.
