Has anyone attemped converting to internal halyards? I will be stepping the mast this winter and I think I want to give it a go. Am I nuts? Maybe. I am trying to simplify and get away from the bungee cord scene. I know Im on a sailboat, but the whapping of the halyards is a bit much sometimes. I know I will likely have move or ad sheves on the masthead an I will have to cut some exits on the side of the mast. That does spook me a little. Let me know what you think. Me know your experience. Thanks seth-

internal mast slap

At least with external mast slap you can bungee the halyards or route them around the spreader end before securing them. At anchor internal halyards will still slap inside the mast as the boat rocks. That is REAL annoying as there is no way to stop the internal noise.
