Several times during the last few years( usually when it is time to come home) the starter wont turn at the push of the starter button. The batteries are new and charged properly. After a few minutes of panic and moving switches, etc it will eventually( after various tries) have power and start right up. A friend says it sounds like a starter solenoid? Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations as to where I start finding the problem?

Clyde - Couple of things : Check your main ground connection on your engine block (usually connected on the aft end of the engine) - it must be clean and tight. Has your wiring harness which connects your engine to the engine panel in the cockpit been updated to get rid of the "trailer connector plug" ? (see Catalina 30 international site)
