After reading the latest discussion on exterior teak, I thought I'd pass on a tip I accidenly learned about interior, unvarnished wood finish. Its a product called "HOWARD Feed and Wax". Its a blend of bees wax and orange oil. I've used it with great success on water stained wood both on the boat (1975 Catalina 30, #75) and on antique furniture at home. A 16 oz bottle is $5.00 at Home Depot and $7.00 at an Ace Hardware store. The bees wax makes it thick when cool and thin when warm. Again, works very good on any wood that has not been varnished. LOVE that stuff!

It really does condition the wood nicely but in a marine environment, you'd probably want to apply it a good 2-3 times a year to keep it glowing. But it sure smells yummy so no big sacrifice! LaDonna

that sound's great but...

Does it attract any flying insects? I have a problem with wasps and bees. I'd love to try it, but I'd hate to have more of my airborne friends along for the ride. Let me know what you've seen. Thanks! Rob

Citrus is a natural repellant

Like citronella candles. I don't think Howard's would attract bugs anymore than teak oil.
