I have a stain on my cabin table top from a can being left on it, also the cabin sole has a dark stain from a water leak. Does anybody know of a way to clean these stains without using the two part cleaners(acid-rinse-neutralizer-rinse)? I am also thinking of using varnish on the table top instaed of teak oil, is this a mistake? Don

Don, Our 95 H26 had similar stains on the table

and much worse on the floor. The wood panel just inside the companionway on the port side was also sun bleached and water stained very badly. Rather than trying to do spot repairs I simply sanded the surfaces with 120 grit and then 180 grit sandpaper on my B

If you check the archives for cabin sole I think you will find a real good article about refinishing. I refinished my cabin sole and table top last year and they came out great. If you sand, be careful because the veneer of teak is thin. I used a cleaner then sanded and it came out great. Dave Oberholtzer Hydrotherapy

I'm a better woodworker than sailor

I can't help a lot with the stains without knowing what finish was on the wood before. I will say that I'm a fan of linseed oil for boat interiors. You do have to apply it once a year(a couple of hours)and protection of the wood is limited; but it smells great. Most of all you will never have to strip it off in the future.
