Interior Teak Finish

I am refinishing my Nav table. It is a teak veneer. It had some kind of a hard finish. Either a varnish or a polyurethane. There are some water or mildew stains that have made it dark in places, so I need to bleach those out. The rest of the interior is either Formica (counter tops) or an oiled teak veneer, which I have oiled and treated with orange oil and look good. The nav table gets a lot of wear so I am thinking that a hard finish would be good. So, a varnish or a polyurethane? I am interested in hearing your experience.

Actually I just had the top of my nav table done with a "teak" formica type product. It really matches the rest of the interior quite well. I had the settee top done a couple of years ago. Not sorry at all. It looks great and "no" I repeat "no" maintenance.

Don't keep us hanging, Steve... what was the product? Sounds like I would use that on my table.

Teak Sealant

Eaphines (SP) bought at Defender. There is one fast drying with a teak (tint). Can be used inside and out. I have almost completed the entire refit of the interior of the boat and used the product on all teak surfaces. Inside the boat I put three coats of poly and it looks "mahvalous."

This is an easy cure. Make a paste out of oxalic acid, or Bartenders friend in absence of that, and wipe it in the spots. Let it dry and vacuum up the residue.
