Interior paint

Peter, What paint did you use to paint the interior of the boat, the forepeak overhead and salon cabin sides, and how much prep did you do? I have too much torn apart on the boat to start another project right now, but sometime I will have to do something to cheer up the original dull gray matt.

Craig,
I used a paint from Zinnser (Home Depot).

Check out the posts at
for my paint story.

I used a big heavy duty rough (grey) scotch-type pad, and a solution of water and TSP to scrub all the old paint. It was a wet and messy job, but it payed off in that there were no loose flakes left to come off.
Still very happy with the results: a nice clean bright cabin!

Thanks, I actually have PermaWhite in the shop. and a Very Nice video Peter. Just a couple of weeks ago I pulled the "non-functioning" Navik that came with the boat out of the locker, again, to try to source out the problem and this time found it. The turret tube had been broken off all this time and hiding at the bottom of the mast. I should have seen that long before. It seems an elegant and simple device, but not nearly as simple as I am.
