Realizing the cost of re-upholstering the interior cushions I decided to recover them myself. I chose upholstery fabric from a fabric shop(navy shell pattern) and used the old fabric and foam as my pattern. Instead of a zipper on the upper cushions I made an envelope closure on the side that is closed with velcro.Similar to wrapping a present. For the bottom cushions a recovered the top and sides and stiched into the existing bottom fabric that was still in pretty good shape. The cost was about 400 in fabric but I saved over 800 by doing it mayself. I used a regular sewing machine with an upholstery needle. I added throw pillows of the same fabric pattern but in burgundy color.
