I'm looking for a good source for interior cushions for a 1984 Cat 30. I just purchased the boat and all cushions need to be completely replaced. I'm berthed in Alameda, CA. Any suggestions for a supplier and about how much for a budget?
We wurchased an 85 C-30 (sail no. 4280)last year and the first thing we did was to replace all of the cushions. We got ours from the catalina factory in calif. They were spendy but everything worked out great and would do it the same way again if the need arises.
One of the guys I race with purchased a '78 C30 and picked up a complete interior set, from Catalina, for $1200. Not really bad for custom cut and covered cushions.
Go to an upholstery shop. If you hit the right one, they will give you a pretty good price. I had a guy re-do my C-27's cushions for just under 600 bucks. They look much better than new, and are made of auto upholstery material, so they should wear well. If you can't get it done for less than about 800, I'd certainly go for new ones. Best of Luck! Rob
