Interesting results from a cold-start experiment

Hi Clark,
Just wondering if any thought was given to the effect of this procedure on the impeller?
I see the logic but would feel reluctant to "dry" running the impeller.

Oil???
Don't have much experience trying to start the 2gm in the cold ( Lake is a little solid this time of year), but switched to Synthetic Rotela in the pickup. With the Synthetic oil the engine spins faster and starts much better. Don't see why this would not work in a little diesel.
