I hope that this turns out to be an outstanding deal on inverters. On a recent Interstate highway trip I fueled-up at a Williams Travel Center. I discovered that they've been selling 1000w.(2k w. surge Cobra "High Gear" inverters for $109.99 and the 2000w (4k w. surge) model for $199.99. I bought the 1000w. unit. It has modified sine wave output, 3-yr warranty, neat digital status dispalys, and includes the battery hook-up cables. It seems pretty nice -- has enough power to easliy run my 3/8 hp. sump pump at home. The above prices include some rebates, and are listed as "October Specials," but I noticed that the rebate coupon is valid thru 12/31/02. I have absolutly no financial interest in this posting (...not a shareholder of Williams or Cobra; neither mom nor the kids don't work there, etc.); it's strictly FYI. I don't believe that Williams sells via mail order; you need to visit one of their Travelcenters. Use the link below to find the nearest one. (It may be a good idea to call ahead, to verify stock on hand.) PS. Perhaps forum subscribers, through either owner experience or performance reviews, can offer some insght about these products?
