Interesting boat

This Bruce Roberts design came in for water a couple of weeks ago. A young couple had just purchased it in Newfoundland and were sailing to Florida. The masts and drop back on top of the coach roof for low bridges. The rig is comprised of 2 large head sails and they said it sails very nicely although maybe a little light for a 22 ton vessel.

Bruce Roberts put out some very interesting designs. Most were home built, I think.

Two headsails (and that's all) for a 22 ton hull, beating against the prevailng winds? No wonder they've only made it to Portland by December. The weather hasn't cooperated much since then. Hope they were in port (Boston?) for the last two or three storms we've had. More bad weather coming up the East Coast hitting NYC on Tuesday and again Friday.
