i have had no problems w/nationwide!

mine is a 79 O'day 30. 1mil liability,25k hull coverage, have had two claims over the years, no hassles and prompt payment. i don't know if having auto and home ins with the same co has anything to do with it. i have heard that some co are reluctant to insure boats over a certain age. weird thing is some of the older ones are in better condition than the newer insurable ones. s/v Que Pasa?

Boat Insurance Costs

My 1988 Catalina 30 costs $1700.00 a year to insure. Boat US quoted $1900.00 / I sail in Buzzards Bay. Anyone else paying this much??

EMMA- thats a lot of money!

I have a '77 C30 insured with Boat US, I believe I'm paying something like $500 for full coverage on LI southshore. Beware that with a 20 yr old boat you will have to get a survey every 5 yrs to satisfy the insurance company.

I agree that is way too money you should make call to other ins co. Boat us wanted $1900.00 for my 2007 h-36 but I went with progressive at half the price with same coverage.
