Insulation - revisited

Much thanks to everyone that suggested the ReflectX for insulation in my V Berth.I was very impressed with the results as we have had some cold weather lately. Now...................I have a deep freezer built in by the PO in the space under the Stbd Setee. Although well insulated including the top lids, the PO also had used a piece of styrofoam 2 1/4" thick sitting on top of it and then the cushions on top of that. A) It looks like hell and B) the addl 2 1/4 " makes sitting on that setee uncomfy for short people. Has anyone here used any kind of thinner insulation? The ReflectX would probably fail under load with the 'blister pack' style insulation. Thanks in advance.Tony B

Foil faced urethane board is good. I have an inch and a

half in my freezer door at home. The "reflects" would probably endure if you could be sure that applied loads were distributed over the entire area. Perhaps the insulation then carpet pad then 1/4 or 3/8 inch plywood?
