Peggy, I think somewhere in your forum and if not somewhere else here I have seen postings dealing with what not to do if you have an uninsulated Ice Box as I do on my 76 Hunter 30.
I understand that gluing styrofoam or other insulation to its outside creates a perfect habitat for mildew and other mold, but I don't recall any solutions being offered.
The icebox as it currently exists is essentially useless as its completely uninsulated and there is some heat transfer from the engine bay to under the sink compartment which shares space with the icebox. Is there anything that can be done to make these more useful as an Icebox? I currently use it as dry storage but it would be nice if it could serve its real purpose so I wouldn't have to dodge the cooler on the cabin floor.
I have thought of wiping it down with alcohol and then applying a spray on foam insulation but not sure this will be effective and mold free.
Any and all help appreciated.
