Cannot resist a bargain so I bought a Si-Tex Navadd8000 MK2 G
It has 4 wires and would like to test it: white, black, green and Red
Which ones go into positive or negative in the battery?Loo9ks like a nice instrument! and it was cheap... must stay away from these things...

Generally the red is 12 votls + and the black is ground.
Course that would depend on the type of instriment and if that is the sensor feed wire loom or the power/communications loom. I can't tell from the name what it does.

Here is a link to some Si-Tex manuals...I didn't see the 8000 listed but maybe the 5000 is similar? Or you could contact the manufacturer from that site...

I will post a picture tomorrow
And yes, I think it is a bargain... I will soon find out if it is not, when I try it and find out it doesn't work!

According to this, its a chart plotter that uses C Map cartridges for charts. Not sure if yours has a built-in GPS - some versions did. Its old! 1990s?
