I purchased my 1978 Pearson 31 for a song and thus far she has been a good if not trouble free boat. Little by little we have worked out the problems, such as a rather large hole in the aft end, motor that sould not run, water that did not cool, and fuel that did not look like fuel from the tank.

So now I have the original knot meter, apparrent wind indicator, and 2 stage wind speed indicator (one original from my boat and two originals from another sailor (from this forum, thank you) who had them at home (and many thanks to that sailor as well).

Assuming that the wiring on the boat is factory original, how do I wire these in? This is my sit-at-the-dock-on-the-Fourth project.

Sincerely;
Robert Lang

Well

It will help to know what brand they are as someone most likely has the paerwork on them OR in some brands there is still factory support

I will repost the add'd information. At this time, for what it's worth, the old Pearson's (is there anything else now?) seemed to have standard, same made in conneticut, instruments.

KENYON anemometer and apparent wind speed indicator manuals. The models are WS300 and W300.

I have manuals, someplace, but my issues are beyond, "read the book." I can see the cables at the instrument end are "Bob-proofed" unique and can only go in one place. But with all plugged in I get NOTHING.

Start with continuity checks on all cables. It's difficult when they are up the mast. Same with thruhulls but you may have damaged wires. Or it might be the the power wire from your panel is no good. If none work check that first.
