Instrument Location on H33

I recently purchased a set of Raymarine ST60 instruments with separate wind, depth and speed displays. I was thinking of replacing the old steering post guard with one angled at the top and mounting the displays in a Navpod housing along with display for the ST4000 autopilot. BUT, I just read something (I forget exactly where, but I think it was in Ferenc Mate's book on sailboat maintenance) that cautioned against mounting instruments anywhere near the binnacle-mounted compass. I knew you needed to be cautions of speakers and other magnetic interference, but I never thought of the instrument displays in the same way. I also thought about mounting the displays in some way over the top of the companionway, but I am concerned they may interfere with the dodger. Where do all you H33 owners have your instrument displays mounted? Any problems with seeing them? As always, thanks for the insight. Tom FitzGibbon S/V Plan B
