Installing the Garmin

So, I got to the boat yesterday to figure out installation of my garmin 441. I sat inside, looked at the wooden bulkhead plywood on both sides of the hatch. The power supply on this boat is to starboard. I noticed that the plywood is attached to the F/G by 3 screws. I removed them to looksee behind to investigate running cable behind.
I found that behind the wood, the plywood is screwed into 3 3''x3"' squares of 1/2 " plywood that are epoxed to the fiberglass. The upper one (sorta in the center at top) came off with the plywood, fell into my hand. So, only 3 points holding the wood to the F/g.
The other thing I realized is that in the swung back, into the cabin stored position, the swingarm will be directly above the Orego stove, also located here to starboard.
Thought about this a while, decided I didn`t want the weight and pulling and swinging on 3 scews and went to plan B. "B" is a bracket to slip down over the top of bottom hatchboard (extra one, only 6" tall) that holds the compass built into it.. the wire will come off of the side where it is installed, lay in the shelf area behind the stove, be long enough to reach. When not in use ,screen is stored away inside, wire is secured onto the bulkhead next to the switches ,up hi, away from stove, and can be moved away from stove even more if necessary when cooking.
In the photo you can see I drilled through the side bulkhead to route the wire into the back of the switchplate. I plugged into a 3 amp breaker (same as line fuse that came with the unit) and on the wire behind the bulkhead I put a plastic zip tie on tight so any pull on the wire is halted there, won`t pull against the plugs.
Not finished yet, need screw for cover, photos when done.
I was pleased to see that when I powered up first time, Lat/Long on GPS matched smartphone Boat us App numbers exactly.

P put keyhole slots in our mounting bracket. I hang it on ss screws outside when underway and inside when I want to stow it. In this configuration it works as well inside for an anchor alarm. I left the cord long enough that it just stays connected. I didn't want to mount it in the bulkhead because of the amount of fiberglass I would need to remove to make a hole that big. I also had to fabricate a new mounting bracket because the original wasn't deep enough for a bulkhead mount.
