Nicro Vent in Hatch

Mike, I installed a nicro solar powered vent in the forward hatch cover on my Hunter 31 sloop. I used a jig saw with a guide(to cut circles) and a small tooth blade. The problem you will encounter is that when you run the jigsaw at high speed the lexan will melt instead of cutting. I had to go slow and pause often to let the blade and lexan cool down abit. I covered the area to be cut with masking tape to avoid scratching the lexan. Good luck.

Did the same thing.

Richard: I did the same thing on our H'31 that Richard did. If I was going to do it again, I'd get a hole saw and do it right. It makes a much cleaner cut.
