Due to a rouge rock attacking my keel and rudder a few weeks ago I will be replacing the rudder with a new Foss Foam unit. A couple of quick questions for those of you who have done this before. My original rudder had a nylon bearing / washer at the top of the rudder. It is in fine shape and I will be re-using it. It pulled right off the rudder. Should this be bonded or free floating like it was? I have also asked Foss to not drill out the top of the rudder post so that we can do it on site for a perfect fit. When we fit the rudder should the rudder head bearing be tight, snug or should there be a slight gap against the one glassed into the hull?Thank you in advance,Tim
