I just purchased a Lewmar folding wheel and need to switch over my X-5 autopilot wheel. Two things;I need the 16mm rubber inserts, does anyone know if I can get them from Raymarine or do I need to go to a dealer? Second the wheel has a slight dish to it. Will the new rubber allow enough movement so there is now warping force applied to to the drive wheel. I have seen this unit installed on these wheels but never up close.

The 16mm rubber inserts came with the autopilot. May be the PO has throw it away. Raymarine should have it.
The slight dish doesn't matter. I have the exact same folding wheel with a X-5 wheel pilot.

I had an S1 on my 40" Lewmar folding wheel and it worked perfectly. I am pretty sure that is the same above deck drive unit at the X5.

I think a set came with my pilot. If not, you have to order a set of the inserts from Raymarine. Unfortunately, you have to buy a kit that has a bunch of inserts you do not need. I sold the extras on ebay so you may want to look there first.

Thanks all. I did have the 16mm inserts but if I kept them God only knows where they are. I'm hoping the Raymarine rep at a yard here has some. He says he has installed a bunch and all have been the 12mm so he should have some 16's laying around. I was afraid of maybe pulling the drive wheel too hard in the dish and causing premature wear.

I installed a 4000ST on mine this year. It was a used unit and had come off a wheel with bigger spokes. I was able to "shim" the wheel fittings with short lengths of clear hose with the right wall thickness inside the rubber inserts.
