A few months ago I purchased a used 1982 Hunter 22. The previous owner had taken out the bilge pump becuase it had stopped working and just left it in one of the storage bins. I have purchased a new bilge pump, but I'm not sure where to install or how. I don't have any drawings of the boat to tell me. Can anybody help me figure this out? Thanks!

H22 bilge pump

I have one installed in the shallow bilge area under the sink(it's not automatic - I throw the panel switch when I need to run it which isn't often); it drains into the cockpit area thru the opening that's also used for the cockpit cooler (under the forward starboard cockpit seat)via a t-valve; the hose from the pump is narrow enough to fit thru the thumbhole opening of the wooden cover for the storage area under the cushion

Question for Mike

Mike; Did you install the T-connection yourself? How did you access that area from below? The bilge is very shallow and slanted; any trick to getting a pump in there that would sit low enough to not bump the cover and get at the most amount of water? How did you run your wiles; out the lid cover as well? Been chewing on this one myself for a while!...Seth

Cover comes up a touch

I'm out of town now, but can take a few digital pictures when I get home this week. It's a fairly easy hook up. I have an automatic bilge pump in mine, not sure what brand but it's the shortest one I could find and it still kicks the board up just a tad. I have a slow leak around the swing keel that I haven't pulled the boat to fix yet, and the pump can suck the bilge dry in a matter of a minute or so. I hopefully will post the pics on Thursday.
