I am close to finishing my project boat and I am ready to install the steering pedestal. I never sailed a boat that had a steering wheel and do not know the pro's and con's of helm position. I have studied boats at the marina and found the pedestals mounted in the fore , the mid and the aft cockpit areas on various boats. My question to the forum is: If you had a blank slate, and had the opportunity to position your steering pedestal anywhere you wanted it. Where would you put it? And Why? Thanks John Hall
