Well I have now received my roller furler of choice in the mail from Performance Yachts (see previous posting). My head sail is at the loft ready to be dehanked and have some #5 tape sewn into the luff. All that is left to do is install the thing. They say this will be easy, but they forgot my headstay attaches to the recessed fitting in the anchor locker. So I have to install a tang to the stem fitting to raise the roller furler above the deck. Sounds simple except that now I have to shorten the headstay. I could get a professional rigger to do this, but I'm a diehard do it yourselfer, so I am considering using either a Sta Loc or Norseman fitting. Does anyone have any experience wiht these fittings? If so which is best and easiest to use?
