Just installed one
First tip....if you use a marina to install the autohelm use an estabilished marina....Read my post on the All Sailor's Menu for an explination.I did actually come up with the way to install the sensor...The piece that is shown going onto the "tiller post" is actually mounted onto the starboard side of the quadrant. Then a place is cut in the back of the rudder box (it is about 5 inches long and 1 inches high). This cut will be just below where the board hangs for your propaine locker. Make an L shaped bracket to mount the sensor on. Mount the sensor on the rear bulkhead, in the rear lazzerette, underneath the propaine locker. My sensor is upside down and it is pointing towards the port side of the boat. The main things is that the sensor is 90 degrees to the location where the bracket is mounted on the quadrant. The rudder sensor is the hardest thing in the install. I should be able to answer any other questions because I ended up showing the mechanics at the marina the way to put the autohelm in....I should have just done this myself instead of being lazy....hind sight is 20/20.
