Installing A/C on Hunter 290

Hi, I have a 2000 Hunter 290 and I want to install an air conditioner. I was wanting to mount it in the v berth but the water tank makes this space too small. My first question has anyone installed one on this boat or has a factory setup, and where was it located? Secondly where did you mount the water pump? Any help would be much appreciated.

The “Owner Resources” section has a detailed write-up for an ac install for the 306, which is a reiteration of the 290. Looks like they put most of it in the forepeak.

That is a great write-up @jdrutten.

Installing the AC unit is one part of the job. Electrical resources are also involved. Verify that you have adequate AC power in your panel for the particular unit you plan to install. Are you only planning to use the Air Conditioner at the dock? If not, what additional resources do you have to supply the required power? Will you need additional battery storage? Will your charging system be adequate to meet your new DC demands?
