Installing 12V fans

I want to install three 12V fans, one in each cabin. They will all be near a cabin light. Can I splice into the light wiring or do I need to run a new power feed back to the main bus?

You could spice into the cabin light circuit, but I would splice into the Carbon Monoxide/Smoke detector circuit and replace all the original Carbon Monoxide/Smoke detectors with 9V battery operated ones.

While I did not to this, PO did. All 3 fans are spliced into the 12 volt lines in my H380. Seems to work fine (for at least a decade), and with now all LED lights, s/b no overloading since the lights now use 1/3 the amps.

Thanks for all the comments. I also plan to switch lights to LEDs so knowing others have spliced into the light circuit and it created no problems helps. Now all that is left is dealing with the head liner without putting a hole in it.

Same here. Fans wired into light circuits.. Caframo fans since they seem to be very low current draw, and LEDs in the lights.. no problems.

my 3 caframos are wired into my G4 bulb reading light circuits for 10 years now without any problems. don't forget to fuse the fans as an extra precaution, see what she fuse caframo recommends.
