Stephen: Check out the BoatUS website. They have a list of surveyors that have the certifications that are required for purchase and insurance surveys.
why didn't I think of that?...I did it and it turns out that nearest South Carolina surveyor is farther away than a Lake Lanier, Ga. person...so I have my answer and thanks for the response.
