I found salt water inside the rudder, I decided to open it, I thought that was inside of iron. Inside and resin and foam, no fretting.
I thought that interests you, see how it is done inside ....

I cut with this tool, it's really fantastic, I managed to make many precision work, and here in Europe is very cheap about 100 euro, to be fair I do not put the brand, but I think is not important.

It seems that it sells in the USA as the Bosch MX30EK-33 3.0 Amp Multi-X Oscillating Tool Kit, for either $140 or $180, about the same as in Euros.

Did you have to fix the shape of the rudder, too ?
Did you have to sand and shape the edges to make them equal ?
How hard was it to remove the old plastic bearing and how much play did you have in the rudder ?

I remember the watermaker you installed, has it worked well ?

Hello Stretch, it was easy to remove the wheel, I had done two years ago, the plastic bearing has no game, was removed with a tool built for this, I set the form with resin, then filled with foam, finally I molded edges and glued with resin and fabric, now i have to fill, smooth finish for Saturday, calypso back into the sea, here begins the season.
The watermarker works well, but is a bit noisy.
