Hello All: I have a 1976 22.7ft MacGregor Venture. Has anyone any ideas or suggestions on installing or appling a mosquito & rain repellent fabric or netting over or around the pop-up above the cubby cabin. Thanks for your interest. Dave.

www.sailrite.com hss mesh and net to suit your purposes. I suggest super velcro for attachment is easy after you hem the netting to fit. Sewn into the netting edge, glued to the boat deck. If you plan on using your boat in sub tropic heat and sun, then use snaps or lift the dot fasteners instead of velcro. Prolonged high heat softens the glue on even the most heavy duty velcro.

Screen Tent

We had made a screen tent for our South Coast 22 and Mac 26D. Basically we bought a 9 x 13 Screen tent and modified it to fit from the stern to infront of the pop top. Scissors, contact cement, sewing machine and a few hours of work and you done. We lined up the zippers to the side for easy dock access.

Picture?

Mark, any chance of a picture? After a night at Caladesi State Park Marina, we decided that we really need to do something.

Tent setup

The stern end is draped over the bimini. I have a 10ft 3/4" grey electrical PVC conduit arched at the cabin entrance. It is attached with plastic bimini fittings on the coming. This helps to keep a "Conestoga" shape. Then it continues over the pop top. The zippers can be accessed from inside and out. It is help taught around with snap fitting all around. I used the existing snaps of the pop top cover on the cabin roof. Never tried to motor with it but i am sure it is doable. Basically you set up the bimini and pop top. Install the 10ft pipe (which can be stowed under the cabin seats). Drape the tent over everything, get some clamps to bunch up the slack and start cutting.
