This isn't actualy linked from anywhere but here... just wondered if a few hardy souls would like to click around and offer some input. It should be fully functional however, if you get a page not found or dns error it just means the domain name hasn't made it to your isp's name server yet. Thanks!

search features

Seems to work fine here Phil and a worthwhile addition. It might be preferable to search by date (of post) as well as author as sometimes it's a particular time or person (e.g., Peggy) that would be of particular interest. Regardless, thanks for the work Don

Incomplete.

I am sure it is my own problem but the screen is incomplete. Probably because I have my new LCD flat panel set at half resolution. You know, old eyes and bifocals. Will the old archive search panel remain? I like that format and see that it still exists. Nope, still does not display correctly. I just set the resolution to 12xx by 12xx with the same result. I discovered that there is another line of text not visible. Discovered it when I tried to "copy" it to paste here. The full text of that screen follows: SailboatOwners.com Forum Archive Enter your search phrase here Find any word Find all words Find exact phrase Let the server find the best matches Browse archvies | Active forums | HunterOwners.com Home That last line, "Browse archives. . .Home", does not appear on my display unless I force it down with a scroll. Incidentally, your "archvies" is misspelled. :)

Warning: Page has Expired

Just started looking at it. First problem is after clicking on a link from a search and clicking the Back button of Internet Explorer you get the above error: Page has expired, and you have to do the search again. Minor problem

More QA

I noticed on searches with large results I was only seeing results from 1999-2001. Seems like there should be multiple pages for large result sets. Is this search going to be in addition to the old archive search by years? Another interesting option, letting the server find best matches gives results not arranged by date. Not sure what is going on there. Seems like a sort by column header for date and author might be helpful. It is very fast.

This will replace the old archive search

...so if there are features in the old search that work for you let me know now. :)

Looks Promising

Hi Phil, Tried it, liked it. Did not see all of header with text size set to "Medium", but did see all on "Smallest". (IE 6 & XP). Noticed nothing later than 2004 and would like to have a chronological sort. Sorting all the archives at same time is good as I can never remember which year a particular topic was discussed. PS:- How 'bout a reply to my "Long Threads" query if you are not too busy. Regards, Don.

Saving a link

One of the things in the old archive I liked was being able to save a link to the thread I found. There doesn't appear to be any way to do that in the new archive, that I can see. If you go the the print option, you can save that address, but that doesn't get you to the thread. Another minor request, how about making the default sort newest first instead of whatever. Thanks.
