A few years ago I found a similar problem. I had Brion Toss check it out and
not only were the hounds "wasted" but the mast was badly cracked behind the
hounds. Bad enough that we decided to replace the stick(actually the entire
rig except for the boom). The mast could have been repaired, but I was not
satisfied with that.
So I'd suggest a complete survey of the rig done just to be sure. Not much
sense in replacing the hounds if what is holding them in place is bad.
