The thread on my main sail cover is unraveling about 4 feet in both directions. Someone suggested a special thread run through beeswax. Does that make sense? Any other suggestions?

How old are your sails? The stitching on the sunbrella UV covers will only last around 5 years or so, then you have to take the sails back to a sail loft for restitching. If you decide to do this yourself make sure to use a UV resistant thread preferably black as my canvas guy told me that the black thread lasts the longest.
