the 2qm on my hunter 33 smoked over half throttle, but did not stop me from sailing. last week it finally totally died. i traced the problem to a broken spring in the injector pump. rather than waste time, i replaced the pump with a new one. i can use the wd 40 trick to make it run, but outside of that, no action from the engine. there are squirts of fuel from the pipes that attach to the injectors. i replaced the old shim when i installed the new pump. i see from the forum that injector pump timing is critical. does anyone have experience with solving the problem and/or setting the timing on the injector pump?

Injector Timing
The injector pump timing is very critical, and has to be spot on for the engine to run properly, or at all. I have a 2qm15 in my S2, and I have a manual on it. Will take a look at it tomorrow, and email the procedure to you. And a pic of the page if I can get my scanner to work. Sorry, but I do not know the proper procedure off the top of my head.
