"Fools rush in where angels fear to tread?" I have just signed an agreement to buy a 1980 34' North Sea Pilot House sloop. I have a bit of experience as a commercial fishing skipper (30 yrs) and am quite sure what my family and my needs are in a boat, but I have very limited sailing experience. I am quite satisfied with the soundness of the hull and equipment but I would like input from anyone with knowledge about the specifics and characteristics of this model. I know I should have been more knowledgeable going into the contract but I have not been able to find even the basic info such as displacement, ballast weight, sail area. Opinions and links to information will be very much appreciated.
