My wife and I have recently acquired our first sailboat (or boat of any kind for that matter). It’s a 1970 12’ KITE sailboat (it’s small, but you have to start somewhere!). We are nearing the end of the restoration, but we can’t find anything on this boat on the internet. Can anyone out there help? Any advice is appreciated! Jeb4

Thanks for the reply!

Looking for any general information on this boat (I take it that the manufacturer is no longer around). I thought that it might be fun to restore it as close to original as I can and seeing a picture of one may help. From what I can tell the boat never had any real repairs or work done to it, so I took care to make things "just as they were" but refinished. The last coat of paint goes on Wednesday night!

I will dig around and see if I have a picture of one. I think it was Newport boats that made them. I guess you know the mast and boom are made of wood. and if I remember right it had a teak rub rail on the sides. I had some great memories on that boat as a early teenager. I happened to see one in San Diego at a boat yard last summer. It was trashed!

Looking for a Kite mast, boom, rudder

I recently acquired a Kite - hull only. Does anyone have a lead on obtaining a mast, boom, sail, rudder, and centerboard?
