Info on Ft Walton Beach, Destin area

I'm a new to Florida sailor and looking for fun places to dock, dine and stay overnight on Choctawhatchee Bay. Upcoming trip there starts April 25, 2018.
My Hunter 31 is 5'4" draft and 47' 4" mast ht.

Don't live there, but Destin Harbor is a nuthouse. I'm sure there are more welcoming areas in Ft Walton. Pensacola for sure.
