I'm looking for a first sailboat and found a couple 22 foot Columbias from the late 60s (69 etc). Does anyone have any tips, ideas etc on the boat? I'm trying to find some info on Columbia as a brand but am unable to find much at all. I'm really left in the dark as to the quality, reliability etc. Does anyone have any good general info or have any suggestions as to other brands to check out in addition? Any info would be really appreciated as my hours of online research have had little productivity. Thank you, Kirstin

columbia's were mass produced so the quality can very from boat to boat. Stay away from anything with springy decks which is delamination with possible damage to the wood core.It is very expensive to fix and makes the boat hard to sell. Catalina makes a nice 22 and 25 footer.
